Why I became a Holistic Health Coach

I recently gave an interview to the college where I studied to become a holistic health coach. It’s nice to look back on and to remind myself just why I enrolled on the course and just how much I have learnt and am still learning, it never stops.

This year I turned 60 and I feel much younger. I know the way I eat has an impact, but I noticed that through any stressful times, or when I didn’t exercise this feeling would quickly evaporate. I realised there is so much more to ageing healthy than eating the correct food, so I started to do some research. That’s when I learnt about health coaches and particularly holistic health coaches.

Holistic health is more about recognising that our relationships and our environment also have a huge impact on our health. We avoid masking ailments and instead look for the root cause of any health issues. Modern day takes a toll on our physical and mental wellbeing. There are many factors to consider and implement in order to have maximum health.

Processed food, lack of exercise, environmental toxins, stress, insomnia all of the above don’t equate to youthfulness.

Holistic Health Coaches are mentors and wellness experts who work with clients to help them discover how to energise their bodies and live a healthy, youthful and full life.

A Holistic health Coach offers health beyond food. Whether working with a coach on a one-on-one basis or in group, emphasis is health and happiness.

A good coach works with you slowly and realistically. Depending on how much there is to work on, this could take 3 weeks, 3 months or more. Changes worth making can’t be rushed.
